Papertrey Ink April Blog Hop

Happy Thursday dear friends!!  I'm so excited to say that I actually made a card!!!  I've been missing my crafty time lately!  Good news is, I've had several card orders that I've had to fill the last couple of weeks and for that I'm very thankful!  I can't tell you though, how it feels to craft just for the fun of it and it totally brings joy to my soul!!  I love the PTI Blog Hop Challenges and this one was very challenging for me!!  Here's the challenge:

It only takes a little *something* to take a project from ho-hum to amazing!  Even something as small as tilting your images or sentiments at an angle can have a huge impact.  This month we are challenging you to create a project that features something tilted.  Position a frame at an angle, tilt your text, add a background strip diagonally, create a border that has an incline, slant a sentiment block, the sky is truly the limit!  We look forward to seeing your projects!
and here's my take on the challenge:
This design was a little different for me, but different can be good.  I love getting out of my box and trying new things!  I did use one of my all time favorite PTI stamp sets for this card though.  The Sweet Life roses are so perfect and striking and they just make me happy!!  I lost my leaf die though, thank goodness they aren't hard to dut out!!  I layered the roses on top of one of the new Big Ticket Basics.  Love those tickets!! I know I'll be using them a ton!!
I used Pure Poppy to stamp the roses and New Leaf to stamp the leaves.  I added a Loop De Loop border and topped it with a Smokey Shadow cardstock strip.  Very Basic and just a little elegant!  I made this card for a dear sweet friend of mine and I hope she likes it!!  She has the biggest heart of anyone I know!!

Crafty Peeps Card Kit Club

Happy Sunday dear friends!  I'm so sorry I've been non-existent on my blog the last couple of weeks.  I have been crazy at work and I've been busy making 160 Wedding Invitations for a friend of my daughter.  The invitations were a lot of fun to create, but they did take all of my time!  They are on their way to Washington today and I'm hoping she loves them!!
They are a nice little pocket panel with an RSVP and Directions card in the pocket and the Wedding Invitation is on the front side.  Here's a photo of all 160 of them and some little thank you's I made just for fun!
Photo: 160 wedding invitations on their way to Washington! Whooo hoo!
The minute I finished the invitations, I picked up my new card kit that my sweet friend Merry sent.  Thank you so much Merry!!!  Its a beautiful kit and I am so thankful to be a part of this kit club!!
Here's the first kit from Merry:

Here's my first card from the kit:
Merry included some pretty little flowers and cute little sentiment pieces in the kit!  I love them.  Of course, I am still in the polka dot mode.  I used my PTI Polka Dot Basics for the background and added the sweet little Enchanted Evening Ric Rac Border that she included.  I love it!!

I will be posting more cards soon!!  I am dying to spend an evening just playing with my goodies!!

Thanks for stopping by!!
I will have more cards to post very soon!!

PTI March Blog Hop

Hi there dear friends!!  It's been a while since I've posted but I haven't stopped creating!  I've been in the process of making some Wedding Invitations for a freind of my daughter and I have been participating in our Church's Newlywed and Couples Workshop.  I've really enjoyed sharing with young couples through this ministry and I can honestly say that it has only improved my own marriage!!  I'm loving it!!  I've had a break from those activities this week and I made a card for the PTI March Blog Hop!!  HooRay!!  I needed some crafty time!!

Here's the challenge:

Sequins are popping up everywhere on paper crafting projects and now's your chance to try out this new trend!  With the variety of colors and shapes available, the sky is the limit with the creative possibilities!  Use them to accent the centers of flowers, add them as borders, fill shakers, or create random splashes of sparkle.  We are looking forward to seeing your sequined creations!

and here's my take on the challenge:
I used the new Polka Dot Parade #2 flowers to showcase the sequins.  Who doesn't love some shiny little flowers? This time of the year, with spring flowers still a ways away, it's fun to add a little sparkle and color!!  I also used the brand new Spring Hills stamp set for this card.  I absolutely adore those sweet little sheep!

PTI Supplies Used:
Spring Hills Stamps
Polka Dot Parade #2 stamps
Loop De Loop Die
Tag Sale Dies
Sweet Blush Patterned Paper and Grosgrain Ribbon
Aqua Mist ink

Cup Cards {to go} Flutterby Kit

Hi there dear friends!!  It's time for the Cup Cards {to go} Spring kit reveal!!  The kit is called Flutterby and it's perfect for all your Spring Projects!  The first card was made using the Sweet Sunday Sketch #178

I took the sweet little banners and twine from the kit and embellished this sweet little Easter Card.  The pink chevron paper is my favorite in the kit!!  The bunny tail is from a previous CC2G kit.  I always save the tidbits from my previous kit...you never know when they'll come in handy!
The next card uses the same pink chevron paper!! I love it!!  I used Retro Sketches #4 for week #52 for my motivation for this card.  I love all the sweet little stickers in the kit and I cut out some sweet little butterflies from one of the patterned papers to embellish.

This card is made using the challenge that Sonda gave us this month.  The kit includes some pretty shimmerTrade Cards.  I chose to make a cute little tag with one of the Trade Cards.  It can be used as a sweet little book mark gift card for a dear friend!  I

I embellished the tag with butterfly rub ons from the kit and added a sweet little stamped bunny and the beautiful hand dyed seam binding from the kit!!
The next card was made using the CC2G sketch.  Such a quick and easy sketch and a great way to use those scraps!!  I embellished with the pretty little ribbon, flower and butterfly ribbon from the kit!  I do have to say that I think my favorite part of the kit this month is all the sweet little sentiment stickers!! They are so sweet and perfect for every day cards for friends!

The next card was made using the pretty blue card base included in the kit along with some of the stickers.  I just love how easy this card was to put together!!
Love the Chevron decorative strip included in the kit!!
The next card kind of evolved.  I started with the blue card base and was motivated by the Sketchbook Saturday Challenge.  The more I played the more I added!  Not sure if I'm completely happy with the result, but it will make a fun card to give away!
Don't you just love the glittery butterfly??

Thanks for stopping by!! This will be my last CC2G kit as I am retiring from designing and I will Sonda's kits tremendously!!  I will be back soon with some new goodies and some layouts as I will be creating with my friends and family in mind in the days to come!! Thank you all for stopping by!!

Papertrey Ink Goodness

Hi there dear friends!!  I am making some new changes in my creative life and I can honestly say I am so ready for the change!  I am retiring from creating for Design Teams and I am going to concentrate on creating just for fun!  I have gotten so busy these days and I just don't have the kind of time I used to have. My sweet hubby and I are going to work with a couples ministry in our church and we want to spend more time hiking and exploring this beautiful state we live in.   I also think that I am going to dabble in some mixed media goodness and best of all, I am going to stamp just for the joy of it!  So today I have a  couple of cards made just for fun, no pressure, no deadlines, just for fun!

My first project was inspired by Papertrey Ink's Feburary Blog Hop featuring Monograms.  I do have to admit monograms are not my normal style, but if I combine a little pink and damask details, I am in heaven!!  Here's the challenge:

The-Challenge
   February-Blog-Hop-Inspiration
{top photo credits- gold place setting :: tray :: gift tag :: floral :: alligator}
{bottom photo credits- modern leaves :: circles :: sr floral :: a & b notecards :: the malones ::cpm floral :: smp simple circle}
Pull out your letter stamps and alphabet dies and create something monogrammed!  It can be a gift for someone special or a treat to keep for yourself!  You could monogram a set of notecards, stationery, coasters, journals, home decor or anything else you can dream up!  Have fun and experiment with combining different fonts, pairing up stamped & die-cut letters, pull-out neglected patterned papers to use as backgrounds, add texture with impression plates and you can even play around with with unique color combos!  We can hardly wait to see what YOU create!

and here's my take on the challenge:
I also challenged myself to play  with my new Cutting Garden Stamps.  I totally love them!
I used the Case Study  #129 Challenge for the inspiration for this challenge.  Love Teri Anderson and she inspiration she provided!!  I am so into polka dots right now, so I stamped them at an angle like Teri's inspiration card.  Way fun!!

Supplies used for the Monogram Card:
PTI Stamper's Select Cardstock
PTI Hibiscus Burst Cardstock and Ribbon
Damask Printable- Melzstampz
PTI Alpha Die

Supplies Used for Cutting Garden Card:
PTI Cutting Garden Stamps and Dies
PTI Polka Dot Basics Stamps
PTI Hibiscus Burst Ink and Ribbon
PTI Limeade Ice Ink

Thanks for stopping by!! I look forward to seeing what you all did with the Monogram Challenge!!

Watercolor Madness with Papertrey Ink

Hi there dear friends!!  I have another Papertrey Ink challenge card to share with you tonight! Here's the challenge:
Todays-Contest
In today's post you saw lots of different watercolored looks achieved.  Now it's your turn to play around with this new trend and create a project using some type of watercolor technique!
I did my best with today's challenge, but I'm not sure that watercolor is my strong suit.  I used Papertrey Ink's Year of Flowers Roses stamps and used a little watercolor pencil and waterbrush pen to color the rose.  I do have to admit it was fun, but I think sometimes I am too much of a perfectionist for watercolor.  I'll have to keep on trying and maybe it will grow on me!  Thank you to PTI for stretching me and making me grow and try new things!!

I decided to use pink polka dots once again because they just make me happy!! I added a heart border die cut and a little bit of black and white twine.  The sentiment is from PTI's Signature Greetings set.
Thanks for stopping by and I wish you an absolutely wonderful Wednesday!!

Papertrey Ink Color Challenge

Hi there dear friends!! I am in a zone with my Papertrey Ink goodies!! I love each and every stamp set of PTI that I own and I am having a blast with all these challenges!!  Here's today's Challenge:

Todays-Contest
Today I used lots of unique and trendy color schemes in my projects!  Now it's your turn!  We are issuing one of our popular color challenges.  I have put together a total of six color stories for you to choose from!  Your task is to create a project utilizing one of these color schemes:
Color-inspiration-1

and here's my take on the challenge:
My motivations for today's card was based on Retrosketches #50.  Such a fabulous sketch and yet it took me a bit to come up with an idea.  I pushed paper around and around and finally I decided to use the same flower color scheme as yesterday.  Once I figured out the focal point and the colors, the rest just fell into place.  I used a tag sale die and decided white on white would make the colors pop and add an element of sweetness to the focal point.  I stamped some pretty little Sweet Blush polka dots along the bottom of the base using Polka Dot Basics.   I added some felt hearts using the Heart Border die and added a Spring Moss die cut tail using the Fabulous Frames die.  The sentiment is from the Fancy Folk Art set.  I topped off the card using a pretty little hand dyed seam binding bow.

Thanks to PTI for a wonderful week of challenges!! I'm having a blast!!
Thanks for stopping by!! I appreciate you all!

Todays-Contest
Today we are issuing one of our popular sketch challenges!  I have designed a total of five sketches for you to choose from!  Your task is to create a project utilizing one of these sketches:

The second card I made today was inspired by sketch #1
Lots of PTI goodies in this one!!  I used Glitz Design patterned paper, Rustic Cream and Kraft Cardstock and I used Leaf Prints Stamps which is one of my all time favorite sets!!  I also used a Photo Finishers die and stamped it with a Signature Greetings Stamp.  The Kraft Cardstock was embossed with a Linen embossing Folder and the Acorns were die cut with felt and Glitz Design Washi Tape.

I added a seam binding bow and pearl to round out the card!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

More PTI Anniversary Fun!!

Hi there friends! I took some time from cleaning today and played along with the Anniversary Festivities over at PTI!!  Here's the challenge:
Todays-Contest
Today we are issuing one of our popular sketch challenges!  I have designed a total of five sketches for you to choose from!  Your task is to create a project utilizing one of these sketches:
The first card I made for today was inspired by sketch #3.  I just loved the angles in the sketch and had to give it a try!!

I used some PTI patterned paper strips along with some Glitz Design paper strips.  What a great way to use up your scraps! I may have to try this sketch again!  I love it!!  I stamped the Sweet Life roses first with Sweet Blush ink and then with Pure Poppy Ink.  I stamped with Sweet Blush ink one again over the top to soften the red a bit.  The leaves are stamped with Aqua Mist ink that I stamped off once and then stamped the detail with Aqua Mist ink again.  The sentiment is from Year Of Flowers Roses.

Thanks for stopping by!! I wish you an absolutely wonderful day!

Happy 24 +1 Birthday

Happy Sunday dear friends!!  My sweet daughter Heidi's birthday was this weekend and of course we had to celebrate!  We had Jambalaya for dinner and of course we had to have a heart shaped cake in honor of Valentine's day which is right around the corner!
She wasn't too excited about turning 25, so we went with it and gave her a 24 +1 birthday!! It was a lot of fun!!  She is the joy in our lives and we are so thankful for her!!  We love you Heidi Elizabeth!!   Of course, I had to make her a card and I went with one of the challenges that are being featured at PTI this week.  Since Heidi fills our lives with so much joy, I wanted to go with a happy and joyful color scheme for this birthday card!
I decided to use Danielle Flander's bright and cheery card, #1 in the first row.  The color scheme is so fun and to be honest, I love the heart that's hanging from the cloud.  I wasn't able to make the hanging heart work, but I will keep it in the back of my mind in the days to come.  Thanks Danielle for all the inspiration!! You are amazing!
Danielle
I decided to go with the Fancy Folk Art stamp set and I just have to tell you, it's way fun to work with!! I love that you can die cut the shapes and I love that each little floral has a specific stamp to fill in the the white space.  It is an absolutely fabulous set!!  I also love the birthday sentiment!!  It's perfect!!  I did hand cut the banner and used dimensional adhesive to add more depth to my project.  You can see the original stamping from this perspective.
Of course I had to add to the fun of the 24+1 birthday on the inside of the card.   I used some Washi Tape to add some red and white polka dots to the top of the sentiment.

It was a fabulous day and I thank you for sharing it with me!!!
Hope you have a wonderful day!!

More Fun with Papertrey Ink

Hi there dear friends!! It's time for more fun with Papertrey Ink...
Todays-Contest
Find an inspiration photo on Pinterest or a different source and create some type of wrap, tag or gift packaging based on that inspiration.

I chose this fun little project by Donna Downey on Pinterest
cute gift wrap
I think I'll make a few of these to give to friends!
Here's my take on the challenge

I took a small Glassine Bag and decorated it with a pretty little doily and hand dyed seam binding.  I cut out a little heart using a Papertrey Ink die and cut out the sentiment from the Papertrey Ink With All My Heart stamp set.  Inside the bag is a little tag made with two Tag Sale dies and a heart from the With All My Heart Stamp set!
Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a very happy Sunday!!
